As the role of a pharmacist continues to evolve, independent prescribing has become a fundamental aspect of professional development for pharmacists. We offer a masters-level module for registered pharmacists leading to the award of Practice Certificate in Independent Prescribing which is accepted by the GPhC for registration as an independent prescriber.
Professional accreditation
Our Pharmacy MPharm is accredited by the , the UK's independent regulator for pharmacy. Accreditation from the GPhC means that graduates are eligible to progress to the pre-registration programme.
After you graduate from a GPhC-accredited MPharm course you complete a year of foundation training. This is paid work in a community or hospital pharmacy where you’ll build a portfolio of evidence and demonstrate your competence while being observed at work. Your progress is guided and verified by a tutor.
